What's your forgiveness story?

Have you ever needed forgiveness? Have you needed to forgive another? Was there pain or doubt in your decision to extend forgiveness to another? I You've likely heard that to forgive another is to free yourself. Do you have a story of forgiveness—either granted or received? Perhaps you've pored over God’s Word seeking answers to your questions about forgiveness. 

Inspire Christian Writers is now accepting submissions for the 2015 anthology, Inspire Forgiveness. We are looking for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, devotionals, and more on the topic of what God has taught you about forgiveness. Submissions need to be under 1,500 words, clearly speak to the theme, and follow the Inspire style formatting. Start preparing today. We can’t wait to see how God will bless our readers through your stories on this important topic.
 
We're accepting submissions between March 1st and July 1st, 2015.

Writers Guidelines:

1.You must be an Inspire member to submit. Not a member? You can join today on our website.
2. You may submit inspiring fiction or non-fiction manuscripts, up to 1500 words, or short poem
3. Write from your heart—be open, transparent, and vulnerable.
4. Follow the Inspire Anthology Style Sheet to properly prepare your story or poem BEFORE submitting.
5. If you would prefer to change the names of real people in your submission, put an * after the first usage of each changed name—and include a footnote.
6. As soon as you submit your piece using the online form, you will receive an immediate e-mail confirmation that we’ve received your manuscript.
7. Submit as many pieces as you like. You will receive two books for your published contribution.

How to Create a Captivating Story:

1. Choose a creative title.
2. Use a strong hook in the first sentence or paragraph.
3. Show conflict and resolution.
4. Use multiple scenes.
5. Include the five senses in your descriptions using few or no adverbs.
6. Show—don’t tell.
7. Include engaging dialogue.
8. Make the turning point clear—when the person or character changes in thought or deed.
9. Make the takeaway clear without spelling it out.
10. Offer a spiritually satisfying ending.
