2013 Write to Inspire

Non-Fiction Writing Contest

Submit your entry by midnight on July 8, 2013.

One non-fiction winner will receive a manuscript critique (first 2 chapters and a chapter-by-chapter summary) by author Joanne Kraft and free registration to the 2014 Write to Inspire Conference.

Runner-up will receive a signed book and a $25 Amazon.com gift card.

Writers must follow ALL RULES to qualify. Submissions must be faithful to Inspire's Statement of Faith.

Rules for Non-fiction Contest:

  1. Writer must be registered to attend Write to Inspire in order to participate in contest.
  2. Manuscript must be unpublished, though author may be published.
  3. First ten pages of manuscript must be submitted using Microsoft Word .doc file, in Courier New or Times New Roman font, 12-point, double-spaced, 1-inch margins.
  4. Document header must include manuscript title and page numbers.
  5. DO NOT include your name or pseudonym anywhere in the document.
  6. Judges will remain anonymous.
  7. Submit all entries using the form below by midnight, July 8, 2013. No hard copies will be accepted.
  8. Entry fee for each submission is $15 (Inspire Members) or $30 (Non-members) and payable at time of entry. Multiple entries are permissible, but must be submitted and paid for separately.
  9. Each entry must include:
    1. The first ten pages of your manuscript.
    2. A one- to two-page chapter-by-chapter summary.

If you experience this problem and would like to pay by check, you may email your Synopsis/Summary and First Ten Pages to . Mail a check for your contest fee, payable to: Inspire Christian Writers, PO Box 276794, Sacramento, CA 95827.

Checks must be postmarked by July 8, 2013. Do not mail your Synopsis/Summary or First Ten pages—paper copies cannot be accepted—only entries submitted by emailed will be considered.
