Chris Pedersen

Chris and her husband live in the beautiful Sierra foothills in Northern California. With two grown children and three grandchildren, Chris turned her career of writing technical material—from manuals to magazine articles—into writing for children.

Graduating from California State Polytechnic University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chris’ resume includes two start-ups (one started in a garage), marketing consulting for companies like Bank of America and Fair Isaac, technical writing, graphics design, and a gift basket business. She shares her wit and wisdom in front of small groups and loves reading her pictures books to kids.

With a life-long passion for health, the discovery of cancer due to a genetic defect brought renewed focus to her life. She now educates others about optimum wellness, making mindful and right decisions about diet, sleep, exercise and attitude—the roots of health. Her short quips of wisdom, delicious plant-based recipes, steps to a healthier, disease-free life are dished out at heatlhyjourneycafe.com.

Besides her regular involvement with Inspire, Chris is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and is active in a local group of SCBWI members. She is also a founding board member of the Book App Alliance (bookappalliance.com) an organization of leading independent kid's book app authors.
