Born in Alameda, California, Debbie Jones Warren traveled to West Africa with her missionary parents before her first birthday. Growing up in Nigeria provided many wonderful cross-cultural experiences, yet it also meant attending a boarding school during her formative years. Returning to the U.S. for college, Debbie graduated from Fresno State with a BS in business.

She worked several years as publications secretary for her local church, and subsequently married Chris Warren, a corporate pilot based in Oakland. Debbie and Chris now make their home in Castro Valley, California. They have two young adult children, plus a brand-new daughter-in-law, and Debbie homeschools their teenage son. She says, “Writing devotionals, serving in women’s ministry, studying German, and hosting teas all provide wonderful outlets for creative expression and fulfilling service.”
