Janet Ann Collins

            Janet Ann Collins used to write feature articles for a newspaper in the San Francisco Bay area and her work has appeared in several anthologies and in publications including Parents' Press, Bay Area Parent, Sunshine Magazine, Mailbox for Teachers, Antique Auction Explorer,  The Union and many more. Once she even won a local poetry contest.

       She is the author of five books for children, The Peril of the Sinister Scientist, Secret Service Saint, Signs of Trouble, Slime & All and A Shadow of Fear.

            Besides teaching in schools, Collins has taught introductory classes in American Sign Language for adults and led workshops at various conferences. She worked in the dormitories at California School for the Deaf for many years and, with her husband, raised three deaf foster sons with various Special Needs in addition to a birth daughter.  She is now a grandmother and lives in Northern California where she is available for book signings and school visits.
