Jean Johnson

Jean’s love of writing and reading has been throughout her life. She has always been an avid reader who read books out loud to her father while young. She was raised by her blind diabetic father, who lost two legs below his knees as she became a teen. She became her father’s eyes, and learned to explain the details of what she saw, and what people looked and dressed like. This experience has helped to shape her unique ways of looking at life and others through the lens of mercy.

She feels blessed to be a part of Inspire Writers and our online group with Carol Peterson. It has inspired her to go further into writing, though school has taken top priority. May 2014, she graduated after a long journey through Virtual Office Professional certification program, and an English degree with honors. She will be training as a life coach and speaker as well, with John Maxwell’s program sometime next year. Writing, coaching and speaking is Jean’s greatest passions, and will be incorporated into a new business. It is all up to God’s timing.

As for hobbies, she enjoys time with family and friends, mentoring elementary kids in reading, journaling and writing poems, short stories, and essays, reading non-fiction, healthy cooking, creating things, and playing with her dog.
