Karen lives with her husband, Z.B., in the foothills above Auburn. She moved up from Southern California fifteen years ago. “It was the best move we ever made,” she says, “getting our four kids away from the city.”

A turning point in her life came eight years ago when she quit her thirty year nursing career to pursue art. “I admit it doesn’t put much bread on the table yet, but it is certainly a wonderful way to spend each day,” she says.

Along the way God has been nudging her to write. Up to this point it has consisted of writing for family, Bible studies, special occasions and for herself. She looks forward to developing as a writer in this second half of her life. God has an amazing journey ahead.
