I'm married with two daughters. That makes me a DODO. A Dad of Daughters Only. Been married for 20+ years.

Been worshiping Jesus since 6th grade. I went prodigal on Him from about 18 till 24. But He brought me back. Since that time, I've been seeking to serve our king in any way that He or His church seems to need. That turned out to be children's ministries, and facilitating adult bible studies for a long season. But after a recent move (fresh start) to the Sacramento area, I finally get  to get around to that calling to write a book that's been in the back of my life for quite a long  time.

You know when you "read through the bible in a year", and there is that big chunk in the middle that you just don't get? Well I got tired of not getting it... So I started researching and writing out the exile in story form.

One day, shortly after moving to  the area, while in church, a visiting speaker encouraged us to engage our culture with the story of Jesus using the arts (movies, plays, songs and such). The Holy Spirit deeply convicted me to go find a group who could be an encouragement/ sounding board to me for this story writing stuff I was making no progress on. I stood up at the end with a firm decision to go find some pastor staff and start asking around if any other folks in church were asking about community around story writing. But, the wife fell to chatting with a friend. I was hanging there...the friend's husband was hanging there...so we fell to chatting. He told me of his current project, writing a fictional history of the story of David. "No way," I said. I want to write a fiction history of Daniel... but I can't get moving on my own. And that's when he invited me to his writing group, Inspire Christian Writers. What a God moment.
