Sophie Thomas

Sophie always said she would never leave the South, but now she finds herself more at home in Alameda, CA with her husband John than anywhere before. Her life aspirations are: wife, writer, and encourager in the body of Christ. She went to Virginia Tech and double-majored in International Business and French, and just completed her graduate certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State. (She likes school a little bit.) In 2013, God began awakening a lifelong dream to be an author and pushing her to write full-time. Last year, she wrote sporadically for a PR firm, completed one short story and a very, very rough first draft of a novel for NaNoWriMo (a crazy person’s challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in one month).

As of January 2015, Sophie is partnering with her feisty but proper grandmother-in-law (better known as Grandma Gay) to write Gay's memoir. Sophie is asking God for a vision for writing. And she’s asking all of you, “How did you get to where you are with writing??” God has answered so far by providing not one but three local writing groups and so many new writing nerd friends. For this she is thankful, and especially for the little group that meets at 3 Crosses Church in Castro Valley.
